Chapter House Home Improvements
PIKES recently invested in much-needed sturdy oak dining tables, as well as new fire-proof basement doors. In addition to the doors and tables, the men spent roughly $5,000 on various beautification projects including a brand new lounge couch for the previously-unused foyer, and garnet and gold curtains. These upgrades are possible thanks to generous alumni support, and they definitely improve the feel of the chapter house. Check back soon for new pictures!

100 Man Chapter Expected by Fall ’10
Current rosters indicate a total membership of 94 men (1/30/10). Following the spring recruitment period, the 100th man pledge will likely come next fall. Gamma Xi has not seen such a full chapter since the mid to late nineties, around the time it won the coveted Smythe Award. Great progress and a commitment to recruiting “the most best men” have contributed substantially to our size and success.

Campus Involvement
  • EJ Whitney was elected to the ASWSU Junior Senate, where he joins Patrick Horton who holds an ASWSU district senate seat.
  • Watch Cable 8 to see Brandon Burnstead on his weekly broadcast feature
  • Watch Cable 8 for clips of the band "All Hands Point Up."  Connor Cahill and Chase Transeth both play guitar in the band.

Spokane Pi Kappa Alpha Regional Conference
In November Gamma Xi sent nearly 20 men to attend the Fraternity’s regional conference in Spokane. Members and pledges alike learned about many different facets of leadership and recruitment, as well as life skills such as proper business attire and resume composition. At the final dinner the Gamma Xi Chapter was awarded the highest conference attendance award for the entire Northwest Region!

PIKES Give Back to the Community
Pikes recently undertook two community service projects aimed at beautifying the college hill area.  Adopt-a-Can focuses on maintaining several trash recepticles on greek row that have become quite messy in the past.  Through the Adopt-a-Block project PIKES have "adopted" D-Street, on which they will pick up trash and clean the general area at least twice a month.  Way to go PIKES!

Teddy Jachim Elected to IFC
Teddy was recently elected to fill the IFC Director of Scholarship and Administration position.  His duties include making sure that all fraternities on campus acheive academic excellence, as well as keeping minutes and order at Interfraternal Council meetings.

Pikes bring back annual House Mom Appreciation Day
Some time ago, Pi Kappa Alpha would invite all the sorority house mothers over for dinner and appreciation.  We decided to resurrect this forgotten tradition, and in late March we hosted a luncheon get together for all the house moms.  This was a great success, and truly demonstrated our role as gentlemen.
